I am so proud to be a part of University Park Elementary School. This has been my "school family" for over twenty years. One of the great pleasures of being at U.P. for so long is to have been able to know so many wonderful families over many years. We even have two teachers at UP this year who are former students of mine. Parents often tell me that they feel the difference when they walk in the door of UP-- the warmth and caring that exists here. I love being a part of that. I have been an educator for thirty-nine years. I received my B.A. from Baylor University and my M.Ed. from the University of North Texas in Guidance and Counseling. I taught for seven years before starting my counseling career. I spent one year working for the Dept. of Defense Schools in Japan and seventeen years teaching and counseling in Dallas Public Schools before coming to Highland Park ISD in 1986. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and have certification in Bi-lingual Education as well as Special Education.
