Welcome to fourth grade! I am so excited to be a part of the growth and learning that will take place in your child this year.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, I taught third grade for three years and am in my tenth year of teaching fourth grade at UP. I graduated high school in Bixby, Oklahoma, attended college at the University of Oklahoma where I earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education, and have a Masters Degree in Educational Technology Leadership. This summer, I celebrated my one year anniversary with my husband, Barrett. We have an adorable Chihuahua named Mookie who loves being the center of our attention. There are many Saturdays that we can be found cheering on the Sooners (Go OU!!) in Norman. I am also often spotted enjoying all of the fabulous shopping and restaurants that Dallas has to offer.
Though I love these things, teaching is my passion. I truly love walking into my classroom each day to find smiles, hugs, and more joy than you can imagine. I think I have the best job in the world! I embrace professional development, laugh often, and work hard to meet the needs of both the curriculum and the students. I want all children to recognize their own unique intelligence, learn how to think as well as question, and develop skills in working with others. My priority is to provide a safe and inviting environment that allows me to inspire, motivate, encourage and instill a love of learning in each of my students.
I am looking forward to a great year with you!
