About Mrs. Chancey

Hello Panther family! My name is Hannah Chancey and I am beyond excited to be entering my third year of teaching fourth grade at UP! I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and taught fifth grade for two years in Kansas City, Missouri. During the fall of 2018, I attended the Kanakuk Institute in Branson, Missouri, where I studied Scripture for five months and gained hours towards my Master's in Seminary. In the spring of 2019, I married my husband, Cameron, and his job took us to Dallas, Texas! Fortunately, my husband and I are adventure seekers, so we were excited for the opportunity to start our marriage in a new city!

When I am not teaching, you can typically find me at a yoga sculpt class or spending time with my husband and our dog Dino! If we ever have a free weekend, we enjoy driving up to Arkansas to rock climb or traveling to Colorado to hike and visit family!

Over the recent years, my love for traveling and serving has only grown stronger. Throughout college, I attended three service trips to Zacapa, Guatemala and also lived in Leon, Nicaragua for three months after graduating in 2015. Through my travels I have learned that where there is lack of education, there is lack of opportunity. I truly believe that these children have the world at their fingertips and it is my responsibility to help them reach their highest potential in all areas! In my classroom, your child will be a part of a community unlike any they’ve experienced! They will be loved, enriched, celebrated, and appropriately challenged every single day. I am truly so excited to watch your kiddos grow and develop into their best selves over the next academic year! Let’s go team Chancey!!
