About Miss Ziegler

Hello everyone! My name is Maddie Ziegler, and I am excited to start my 7th year of teaching and my first as the Library Media Specialist. I grew up in the Park Cities, attending Hyer Elementary and graduating from Highland Park. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em!) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Learning and Development. I received my masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a Literacy Focus.

I am in the midst of planning a wedding and look forward to getting married this fall. When I’m not wedding planning, you can find me teaching pilates at Bodybar Studios, working out, spending time with my family and friends, and volunteering. I am passionate about making education accessible for all children, and that passion has led me to work with a non-profit in Haiti. For the past 8 years, I have traveled to Haiti to work with Haiti Outreach Ministries in their schools, churches and orphanage.

I absolutely love reading and believe this love has opened endless doors of opportunities. It is my sincere hope that the library is a safe place where all children feel welcomed as they strengthen their critical thinking and problem solving skills. My goal is to encourage each student to see the vast potential that is unleashed through reading and to foster their journey towards becoming lifelong readers.  For as Dr. Seuss said best, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
