Attendance

Regular attendance is essential to student success. Students are expected to arrive on time and attend school each day unless illness or other excused circumstances prevent them from doing so.

Reporting an Absence:
If your child will be absent, please email upattendance@hpisd.org as early as possible, preferably before 8:00 a.m. Include your child's full name, date of absence, and reason for the absence.

Tardies:
Students who are not in their seats by 7:55 a.m. are considered tardy and must check in through the front office for a tardy slip before reporting to class.

Early Check-Out:
Students leaving campus during the school day must be signed out by a parent or authorized guardian through the front office. Please notify the classroom teacher in advance whenever possible.

Attendance Matters:
Consistent attendance and punctuality help students develop positive habits, remain engaged in classroom learning, and maximize their academic success. Excessive absences or tardies may require additional communication with campus administration.
