HPISD will use the Monday, April 10 bad weather make-up day on the academic calendar to make up one day of missed instructional time lost during the recent winter storm.
In total, the district missed four instructional days from Tuesday, Jan. 31 through Friday, Feb. 3 due to icy road conditions. To address the missed instructional days, HPISD has done the following:
- utilized minutes banked into the academic calendar to cover one missed day
- made use of the April 10 bad weather make-up day to cover a second day
- submitted a Missed Instructional Days Waiver request to TEA to waive the last two missed days
