Curriculum

The Instructional Coach works with all teachers and staff on implementing resources and professional development across all subject areas. Many of the roles of the Coach include instructional specialist, facilitator of professional learning, data coach, resource provider, and classroom supporter.

The two models of coaching include:

  • Instructional Coaching: to “increase teacher effectiveness and student learning by supporting teachers in implementing proven practices, reflecting on their instructional decisions, and making needed adjustments.” (Killion, et.al, Coaching Matters 2012).
  • Technical Coaching to “increase teacher effectiveness and student learning by improving knowledge of processes, procedures, resources, and protocols.” (Killion, et.al, Coaching Matters 2012).

Above all, the Instructional Coach works as a catalyst for continuous learning improvement and  strives to provide support for all teachers.
