The Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Kim Banuelos as the new principal at University Park Elementary School during the June 20 school board meeting.

This is his first official week as the district's new leader after spending the past several weeks getting to know the HPISD community.

Highland Park ISD voters elected Blythe Koch and Pete Flowers to serve on the Board of Trustees in Saturday's election. Both will serve three-year terms until May 2026.
