About Mrs. Vahrenkamp

Welcome to kindergarten! I’m so excited to spend the year with your child and can’t wait to get to know your family.

This will be my 14th year teaching and I’ve spent the last 7 years at UP. Throughout my career I’ve taught in Dallas ISD, Arlington ISD and Birdville ISD. My teaching experience ranges from kindergarten thru second grade. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Tech University. I earned my Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership with a specialization in Autism from Lamar University. I grew up in Bellville, a small town outside of Houston.

I’m the oldest of three siblings. I have a younger sister and brother. My husband Josh and I have been married for 12 years and are proud parents to our four year old daughter Mila, and little sister, Maxwell. In between soccer games and dance classes, my family and I love to travel and explore new restaurants in Dallas.

As an elementary teacher, my goal is to treat each student as if they were my own. The University Park Elementary community is the absolute best and I'm proud of be a UP Panther. I’m so excited to have your child join me this year in kindergarten!

Mother's Day Tea

Just a reminder that the Mother's Day Tea will be held this Friday at 1:30 in the U.P. Auditorium.

We are very excited to see you there!

Lauren was our teacher of the day back in March. She did a great job. I picked her up for school, we went to Mustang Donuts and then she got to teach the class all day.

You never know when you'll run into a UP Panther. :) Hal and I were on the same flight home from Denver yesterday!

Have travel pics of your Panther you'd like to share? Send them to me and I'll feature you on the blog...

Just a reminder to have all homework journals turned in each Friday. If your child's journal gets misplaced or lost, please contact me and I will get them a new one. It is important that they are completing the writing every week.  Other programs to keep working on include: RAZ-kids, IXL, Reading Eggs and also home readers must be turned in at least once a week.

Just a reminder our field trip is still scheduled for tomorrow. Students need to BRING A LUNCH, and WEAR THE NAVY HP CLASS OF 2026. We will be seeing "Go Dog Go" at the Children's Theater.

We are 100 Days smarter! We had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school as you can see. I hope you enjoyed looking at all the fun work that came home yesterday with your child.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday break and we'll see you back at school on January 6.
