Coach Honeycutt
Hello! My name is Austin Honeycutt and I am beyond excited to be teaching physical education here at UP! Along with teaching PE, I will be coaching football and baseball at the high school. I am originally from Kilgore, TX. I attended Kilgore College and the University of Texas at Tyler, where I received my Bachelors degree in kinesiology. After a brief coaching stint in East TX, I moved to Fort Worth where I earned my Masters of Liberal Arts degree from Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!). During that time, I was fortunate enough to work in game operations for all athletic competition at TCU.
Prior to UP, my career included stops at Kilgore, Krum and Burleson ISD where I taught physical education at all levels as well as coached high school football and baseball. I currently live in Dallas with my wife Emily and our two pets Zuko (dog) and Rizzo (cat). When I am not teaching or coaching, I enjoy spending time relaxing with my family and friends. My hobbies include: traveling, watching movies, playing sports (to stay active) and attending sporting events.
Being an educator and a coach has been one of the best decisions I ever made! I truly believe I have found my calling which makes my passion for what I do so genuine. It is extremely important for me to build strong relationships with my students and the community to serve them the best I can. My educational goal is to create a fun and safe environment for all my students to explore their physical and mental abilities.
