Mrs. Melissa Groshans

Hello UP Panther Families!

 

My name is Melissa Groshans and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten at UP! My husband Brad and I live in Dallas, and we have two wonderful daughters who are both currently attending college. In my spare time, I love to travel, explore all the amazing things Dallas has to offer, and spend quality time with family and friends.

 

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA but made my way to Texas while serving active duty in the United States Air Force. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University and I’m looking forward to completing my Masters in December 2024. My teaching journey started back in 2009 as a Resource/Inclusion Teacher, followed by a year as a Behavior Unit Teacher, and I’ve been happily teaching Kindergarten ever since.

 

My heart is all about helping my students flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to create a positive learning environment where my students can become confident critical thinkers. I can’t wait to meet every one of my students and inspire a lifelong love of learning in them.
