About Ms. Mayhew

Hello UP Panther Family!

My name is Missy Mayhew, and I am beyond thrilled about another year at UP teaching! I grew up in Canfield, Ohio, and graduated from Youngstown State University in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. After college, I moved to Richardson, Texas, where I began my teaching career. I taught pre-k, first, and second grades throughout my 15 years at RISD.

I currently live in Richardson with my family. I have three crazy and fun kids! Brynn, Aaron, William!  I enjoy road trips, cooking, live music, football (GO Buckeyes!), and spending time with my family and friends in my free time!

I love that I get to do my number one passion every day: working with children!  To see a child fall in love with something, to watch them go head over heels for a concept or idea, to be completely enthralled in a moment of joy- curiosity spills over, their excitement becomes contagious, and a life-long seeker is born!  This is what keeps me teaching!
