About Mrs. Webster
Hello UP Panthers! My name is Ginger Webster, and I am thrilled to be a Take Flight teacher at UP. Prior to teaching Take Flight, I taught kindergarten at UP. All three of my children are proud UP panther alumni, and I am so excited to continue to be a part UP family as a teacher.
I grew up in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas. I went to college in Mississippi at Ole Miss and graduated from Millsaps College with an elementary education major. I have a masters in Teacher Leadership with a concentration in ESL from Lamar University. I taught first grade in Jackson, MS for a year before moving back to Dallas. I taught kindergarten and first grade in RISD at Lake Highlands Elementary before taking a break from teaching to stay home with my three children. My oldest son, Jack, just graduated from Clemson University and is working for JP Morgan in San Antonio. My son, Sam, is a sophomore at Navarro College and plays baseball there. My daughter, Cate, is a sophomore at HPHS and is a member of the Highland Belles drill team.
Early literacy is my passion. I love watching students as their reading skills emerge and helping them build their confidence as readers and learners. I am excited to work with the students and help them learn how to use reading strategies that enable them to become confident readers.
It is such a joy to work with students as they discover how to unlock their learning potential. It's going to be a great year, and I am so excited to see your students soar to new heights in Take Flight at UP!
