About Mrs. Webster
Hello UP Panthers! My name is Ginger Webster, and I am thrilled to be kindergarten teacher at UP. All three of my children are proud UP panther alumni, and I am so excited that I can continue to be a part UP family as a teacher.
I grew up in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas. I went to college in Mississippi at Ole Miss and graduated from Millsaps College with an elementary education major. I have a masters in Teacher Leadership with a concentration in ESL from Lamar University. I taught first grade in Jackson, MS for a year before moving back to Dallas. I taught kindergarten and first grade in RISD at Lake Highlands Elementary before taking a break from teaching to stay home with my three children. My oldest son, Jack, is a senior at Clemson University. My son, Sam, is a a freshman at Navarro College and plays baseball there. My daughter, Cate, is a freshman at HPHS and loves to dance at PCD and spend a month of her summer at Camp Mystic. My kids keep my hours away from school filled with many activities and lots of driving!
Early literacy is my passion. I love watching students as their reading skills emerge and helping them build their confidence as readers and learners. I am excited to work with the students and help them learn how to use reading strategies that enable them to become confident readers.
I am excited about all we have to learn in language arts, math, science, and social studies this year. Every day of kindergarten is a day packed with opportunity to gain understanding and knowledge and grow as a learner. It is such a joy to work with students as they discover how to unlock their learning potential. It's going to be a great year, and I am so excited to see your students grow and glow at UP!
