About Mrs. Webster
Hello UP Panthers! My name is Ginger Webster, and I am thrilled to be kindergarten teacher in Panther Country. All three of my children are proud UP panther alumni, and I am so excited to join to the UP family as a teacher.
I grew up in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas. I went to college in Mississippi at Ole Miss and graduated from Millsaps College with an elementary education major. I taught first grade in Jackson, MS for a year before moving back to Dallas. I taught kindergarten and first grade in RISD at Lake Highlands Elementary before taking a break from teaching to stay home with my three children. My oldest son, Jack, is a freshman at Clemson University. My son, Sam, is a sophomore at HPHS, and I love cheering him on at the HP football and baseball games. My daughter, Cate, is in sixth grade at MIS, and loves to dance at PCD. My kids keep my hours away from school filled with many activities and lots of driving!
Early literacy is my passion. I love watching students as their reading skills emerge and helping them build their confidence as readers and learners. I am excited to work with the students and help them learn how to use reading strategies that enable them to become confident readers.
I am excited about all we have to learn in language arts, math, science, and social studies this year. Every day of kindergarten is a day packed with opportunity to gain understanding and knowledge and grow as a learner.
It is such a joy to work with students as they discover how to unlock their learning potential. It's going to be a great year in Panther Country for our class!
