About Mrs. Webster
Hello UP Panthers! My name is Ginger Webster, and I am thrilled to help the kindergarten students at UP grow this year. All three of my children are proud UP panther alumni, and I am so excited to join to the UP family as a teacher.
I grew up in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas. I went to college in Mississippi at Ole Miss and graduated from Millsaps College with an elementary education major. I taught first grade in Jackson, MS for a year before moving back to Dallas. I taught kindergarten and first grade in RISD at Lake Highlands Elementary before taking a break from teaching to stay home with my three children. My oldest son, Jack, is a senior at Shelton. My son, Sam, is a freshman at HPHS, and my daughter, Cate, is starting 5th grade at MIS. My kids keep my hours away from school filled with many activities and lots of driving!
Early literacy is my passion. I love watching students as their reading skills emerge and helping them build their confidence as readers and learners. I am excited to work with the students and help them learn how to use reading strategies that enable them to become confident readers. It is such a joy to work with students as they discover how to unlock their learning potential.
