Ms. Claudia Smith

Welcome to my bio page! I am thrilled to be entering my 28th year of teaching and my 11th year as a proud member of the UP community. My journey in education has been incredibly rewarding, and I am passionate about fostering a love for learning in my students.

I was born in Midland, TX, but I grew up in the beautiful state of California. My academic journey took me to Southern Methodist University (SMU) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Most recently, I have achieved another milestone by completing my Master's degree in Teacher Leadership, further enhancing my skills and knowledge to better serve my students.

Outside the classroom, I cherish the time spent with my two wonderful children and enjoy the companionship of my dog and cat. Gardening is one of my favorite pastimes. Additionally, one of my favorite pastimes is following college football. My teams are USC, UCLA, SMU and the University of Alabama. Whether I'm digging in the dirt, relaxing with my furry friends, or rooting for my favorite teams on Saturday, I always find ways to stay connected to nature and unwind.
